A Crowded Barrel Artifact
The Stavey Wonder began its life holding whiskey.
Not metaphorically.
Literally.
It’s cut from one of our used oak barrel staves at Crowded Barrel—wood that once held spirit through years of heat, pressure, patience, and time. The darkened penetration line running through the grain isn’t decoration. It’s the mark of where whiskey once lived, breathed, and changed.
We didn’t sand that story away.
We built around it.

What It Is
The Stavey Wonder is a whiskey rest, a teaching tool, and a quiet flex.
It holds:
- your glass
- your Glencoin
- your cigar

All without shouting about it.
The bottom retains a sealed whiskey-infused char—enough to keep the history intact, sealed clean, and tactile. The top is shaped just enough to turn a working barrel stave into something that belongs wherever good conversations linger.

How It Works
The Glass Perch
A precision-cut recess holds the base of your Glencairn steady and centered. It’s deep enough to feel intentional, shallow enough to stay clean and dry.
The Penetration Line
That dark line along the side of the stave? That’s where the whiskey soaked into the oak over time. When someone innocently asks a question about aging, barrels, or flavor—you now have a visual aid for your entirely reasonable, definitely not long-winded explanation.
The Glencoin Inset
Each Stavey Wonder comes with an official Crowded Barrel Glencoin—a metal challenge coin with an inset ridge sized to fit over the top of a Glencairn like a lid. It protects your pour from curious flies, kamikaze gnats, and other uninvited guests.
The coin lives in a recessed pocket in the stave, with subtle finger notches underneath so it lifts easily—because clever shouldn’t be fussy.
For Glory (and Utility)
A deeper notch allows the Glencoin to stand upright.
Yes, it looks good.
But it also functions as a phone kickstand, with the bottom edge of your phone resting naturally in the cigar groove.

The Cigar Groove
A lateral groove holds your smoking companion off the table, away from spills and rings. If you don’t cigar, it quietly waits—doing nothing until it’s needed.
The Emergency Ashtray
In a pinch, the glass recess can serve as a small ashtray. The oak is sealed so you can rinse it with water and towel dry. We don’t advertise this feature loudly. It’s there because real life happens.
